Dress Inspired By Elena in Vampire Diaries

In CategoryCelebrity Dresses, Dresses in Movies, Occasion Dress, Prom Dresses

Would you like the Vampire Diaries dress that Elena wears for Miss Mystic Falls, as your homecoming dress or prom dress and other special occasion dress?

While Elena’s dress inVampire Diaries is a sweetheart royal blue evening dress, with a halter, many royal blue halter dresses have all sorts of stupid rhinestones on them that look tacky. Elena’s hair covered the halter straps in the front, giving you the same simple sweetheart neckline look with both of these dresses.

Buy pretty and fancy dresses. nothing that shows too much, not too short either. Make it a little sexy but still classy. Elena is never seen showing her parts to everyone.

Special Occasion In North America:Prom

In CategoryOccasion Dress

In the United States and Canada, a prom, short for promenade, is a formal dance, or gathering of high school students. It is typically held near the end of the senior year. It figures greatly in popular culture and is a major event among high school students. High school juniors attending the prom may call it Junior Prom while high school seniors may call it Senior Prom.(Senior prom dress and Junior prom dress>>)

Girls wear traditional ladies dresses or gowns. They may purchase their prom dresses from specialized shops, boutiques, or internet retailers. There are many specialty labels selling prom dresses that release new collections each prom season.
Traditionally girls will also wear a corsage, given to them by their dates, and girls give boys matching boutonnières to be worn on their lapel.

It has become increasingly common, especially in the United States, to create events that closely resemble high school proms, usually as fundraisers for charities, or even for profit. An example of the latter is The Awesome 80s Prom, in which an audience participation theatrical play, set in an actual dance hall, is held every Saturday in New York City.

Special Occasion In North America:Homecoming

In CategoryOccasion Dress

Homecoming is the tradition of welcoming back alumni of a school. It most commonly refers to a tradition in many universities, colleges and high schools in North America. It usually includes activities for students and alumni, such as sports and culture events and a parade through the streets of the city or town.

Homecoming is an annual tradition of the United States. People, towns, high schools and colleges come together, usually in late September or early October, to welcome back alumni and former residents. It is built around a central event, such as a banquet and, most often, a game of American football, or, on occasion, basketball, ice hockey or soccer. When celebrated by schools, the activities vary widely. However, they usually consist of a football game played on a school’s home football field, activities for students and alumni, a parade featuring the school’s marching band and sports teams, and the coronation of a Homecoming Queen (and at many schools, a Homecoming King). A dance commonly follows the game. When attached to a football game, Homecoming traditionally occurs on the team’s return from the longest road trip of the season.

The Homecoming Dance—usually the culminating event of the week (for high schools)—is a formal or informal event, either at the school or an off-campus location. The venue is decorated, and either a disc jockey or band is hired to play music. In many ways, it is a fall prom. Homecoming dances could be informal as well just like standard school dances. At high schools, the homecoming dances are sometimes held in the high school gymnasium or outside in a large field.(Prom Dress >>)

Since most colleges are too large to facilitate a campus-wide dance, these events are usually handled instead by student organizations such as fraternities, sororities, and residential colleges. Because football and alumni events are the focal points of collegiate homecoming, dances often take place during a different week when schedules are more permitting, or not at all.

The term “homecoming” can also refer to the special services conducted by some religious congregations, particularly by many smaller American Protestant churches, to celebrate church heritage and welcome back former members or pastors. They are often held annually, but are sometimes held as one-time-only events, to celebrate the occasion.

Homecoming should not be confused with prom, as they usually occur at different times of the year. Homecoming usually occurs in the fall, and prom usually occurs in the spring.

Special Occasion In North America:Winter Formal

In CategoryOccasion Dress

Winter formal, also called Winterfest or Queen of Hearts Dance, is a dance held by high schools in the United States. It takes place between homecoming and prom, usually between January and March. At some schools this dance may supplement or replace a Sadie Hawkins dance. (Know more about Homecoming dress, Winter formal dress,Prom dress.>>)

It has many of the same characteristics as a prom with a band to play music and catering service.
This dance is often provided to high school students as a school-sponsored event for the long period between Homecoming in Autumn and prom in May. The influence of New Years Eve formal events and St. Valentine’s Day may pique students’ interest in holding their “own” dance during this time.

It is thought in some cases as a “pre-prom dance, and is often not held at the school if the school can afford to hold it elsewhere. It might be held at a catering hall or ballroom facility. Students may use this event as a test case to see if their date has interest in continuing the relationship before committing to Prom. There are many ways of asking a date to a winter formal and several websites offer tips on doing it in a unique or unusual way.
